Sheffield Wednesday’s dire run in the Championship continued on Saturday afternoon as the Owls played out a stalemate at Hillsborough.

The south Yorkshire side have only won one of their last seven league matches as they drew 0-0 against Millwall; a fourth point gained from a possible 21.

Despite finding themselves in a rut as of late, some members of the Owls faithful believe they have seen the man that can turn their fortunes around following a second-half cameo at the weekend.

Fernando Forestieri made his long-awaited comeback from injury after being introduced in the 56th minute for Kadeem Harris, and even though he wasn’t able to find the net, he clearly made an impact going by the following reaction…

“Looked dangerous” and “offered more energy” were two reviews of his cameo whilst another claimed the 30-year-old gave the side a bit of spark they desperately needed.

Per SofaScore, Forestieri had three shots at goal, recorded one successful dribble and two key passes in just 34 minutes of action, and as one supporter eluded to, he had more touches of the ball than both Adam Reach and Kadeem Harris in less time on the pitch.

It has led to bold claims that the Argentinian is not only the best player at the club but also the best player in the league…

One fan said Forestieri showed in 20 minutes exactly why there’s no one better than him in the Wednesday squad while another added that on his day, he was easily the best in the division as he’s a game-changer.

Others added that he needed to start more matches and gain more minutes with a further member of the Hillsborough faithful going as far as suggesting that he should be given a new contract as his current deal is set to expire in the summer.
