Arsenal took the lead in the third minute through Jakub Kiwior, only for England international Eze to volley in Adam Wharton's corner with a controlled finish off the post just before the half-hour mark. His effort was reminiscent of Manchester United legend Paul Scholes' stunning strike against Bradford City in 2000, although not quite as spectacular.

Eze has developed a reputation for scoring eye-catching goals for Palace in recent seasons but he may still have a way to go before matching the likes of Scholes, who also scored a brilliant volleyed effort against Aston Villa in 2006. Incidentally, the 26-year-old has been linked with United, Tottenham, and more in the past.
